Tomodachi Sushi is a restaurant in the heart of Westwood known for its unique sushi rolls. Tomodachi’s owner, Alex Kim, explains that because his restaurant is so close to the UCLA campus students are a core component of his customers. He says that “It is crucial to put my name out to the UCLA students.”

Kim began working with the Daily Bruin in 2000 because he understood the importance that UCLA students are to his business. Matt Luskin, Tomodachi’s current account executive, has established a strong relationship with Kim, and together they have designed advertisements for Tomodachi that would reach the UCLA market most effectively. Both Luskin and Kim explain that the most effective advertisements for his restaurant are the sake and lunch specials that he runs. “The students are very responsive to the specials that I run in the Daily Bruin” Kim said.

The service that Luskin provides Tomodachi meets all of restaurant needs. Kim says, “Matt is very helpful. He is always informative and updates me with schedules of important editions of the newspaper.”
